Up to standard? Your guide to using the standards for employers of social workers in England
£0.00
The Social Work Reform Board has published a set of Standards for Employers of Social Workers in England, together with a Supervision Framework. These have been produced in response to the recommendation of the Social Work Task Force that there should be clear standards required of employers when they employ social workers. The Standards are intended to address the lack of support and poor working conditions that many social workers continue to suffer.
UNISON has played a key role in the work of the Task Force and the Reform Board. The Reform Board’s Standards also have the sign-up of central government, and organisations representing local government leaders, social services directors, council chief executives and voluntary sector employers.
The Local Government Association is responsible for hosting and promoting the Standards on behalf of all employers across public, private and voluntary sectors. Regulators Ofsted and the Care Quality Commission are expected to take account of the Standards in their regulation and inspection work. The Standards cover all employed social workers in all settings. A5 leaflet 4 pages
